全国工商联石材商会副秘书长李明莉谈美国国际石材采购中心项目
Talk about the project of American International Stone Procurement Centre by Li Mingli, secretary-general of China Chamber of Commerce for Stone Industry
应美国阿莱巴马州州政府及北美国际石材采购中心股份有限公司的邀请，全国工商联石材商会副秘书长李明莉一行于2008年2月8号赴美对美国国际石材采购中心项目进行为期20天的重点考察与调研。
At the invitation of the Alabama Government and North American International Stone Procurement Centre Co.,Ltd., Li Mingli, secretary-general of China Chamber of Commerce for Stone Industry, and his party arrived in America on February 8 in 2008 to carry out their 10-day inspection and investigation of the project of American International Stone Procurement Centre.
采访李明莉秘书长时，他刚刚从美国考察归来。李明莉说，此次考察的目的旨在建立一个规模最大的北美石材采购中心，调研工作初战告捷，双方达成初步共识初步选定阿莱巴马州作为项目地址，投资主体为美国北美国际石材采购中心股份有限公司，北京、天津、内蒙等石材行业商会联手负责组织招商和运营管理。此前，中美双方已经就此事进行多次沟通。去年阿莱巴马州州长鲍勃莱利先生一行就曾亲自来华邀请。
In an interview, Li Mingli just returned. He said the purpose of this inspection aimed at building North America’s largest stone procurement center and inspection and investigation has made progress. A preliminary consensus has reached. The Alabama was identified as the base of this project, mainly invested by North American International Stone Procurement Centre Co. ,Ltd. Beijing, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia and other stone Chambers of Commerce jointly attract investment and do operation management. In fact, to date, both China and the United States had communicated in this project. For example, Bob Riley, Chief Executive of the Alabama and his party personally arrived and invited China to visit the Alabama.
李明莉先生指出，此次工商联石材业商会牵头组织的国际性合作是中国石材产业发展提升的重要标志，可以说是一次历史性的机遇，对中国石材进一步开拓国际市场起到举足轻重的推动作用。
Mr. Li pointed out that this international cooperation organized by China Chamber of Commerce for Stone Industry is the important symbol of the development of our stone industry. It can be called a historic opportunity, which gives an important impetus for China stone to developing the international market.
07年中国石业继续向前发展，是整个石材业走向成熟的一年。李明莉说，我们充分相信这个向前向上的趋势在08年还会继续下去，因为任何一个行业，都是从分散到集中的，而中国的石材业正处于一个整合集中的发展阶段。中国的石材业要走出去，而且要走得更远，更稳，问题总是会有的，但随着越来越多专业力量的介入，相信中国石业百年发展的恢宏远景将不会是一纸空文。

李明莉先生指出，我们将借势造势，通过国内外各种渠道广泛宣传，采取“走出去、请进来”的方式，举办和参与一系列的推介活动，将中美合作的美国国际石材采购中心项目这个盘子做大做强，形成集聚效应，不断扩大中国石材的影响力和辐射力。同时希望有越来越多的中国企业走向世界，积极参与国际竞争，在全球范围内通过对资金、市场、资源的合理配置谋求长远利益。
Mr. Li also pointed out that would adopt the way of going abroad and asking in by widely publicized through various channels at home and abroad to hold and join a series of promotion activities so that the project of American International Stone Procurement Centre was becoming bigger and stronger, constantly expanding the influence and radiation of China Stone. He also hoped that more and more Chinese enterprises walked up to the world, actively participated in the international competition and bucked for the long-term interests through the rational allocation of global capitals, markets and resources.
谈到这个项目的前景，李秘书长很有信心，他说这个项目大有可为。因为这个项目旨在帮助中国企业以高起点，低成本进入美国成为跨国公司，拓展美国市场，决胜终端，进而俯视全球市场，最大限度地降低中国石材企业登陆美国的成本和风险。
Mr.Li has faith in the prospect of this project. He said this project was promising because it aimed at helping Chinese enterprises with a high starting point and low-cost to set foot on the United States and become multinationals so that they can develop American market and win terminals to overlook global stone markets and furthest reduce the costs and risks of landing America market.
据悉，美国是世界上最大的建材家居产品消费市场，由于环保及劳动力成本高等原因，大部分建材包括石材已经不再生产，主要依靠进口。中国石材行业的巨大产能与美国庞大的消费市场形成很好的互补性。
It is reported that the United States is the world’s largest consumer market of building materials and residential products. Because of higher labor costs, environmental protection and other reasons, most building materials, including stone are no longer produced, which mainly rely on imports. The huge capacity of China’s stone industry and the huge consumer market in the United States form a very good complementation。
